Late Wife is an indie rock band from Austin, TX, whose music rides dynamics like crashing waves. At times soulful and lyrical, at times driving and loud, always leaning on a bed of melodic bass and intricate rhythms. Their sound is both familiar and wild, like sitting by a campfire on a cold night knowing that something strange lurks in the nearby woods.

Late Wife started as the brainchild of primary songwriter Frankie Conover after her safe yet unfulfilling life exploded, hurtling her back into music. The first call she made was to childhood best friend and lifelong musical collaborator Cecil Blackwood Cross (bass). They were joined soon after by Jake Adler (drums) and Alan Koda (guitar) who brought their own decades of musical experience and creative expression.

The group released their first official single in September of 2025 and have quickly gained momentum with local nods like KUTX’s Song Of The Day and national success, like the NPR Tiny Desk Contest On The Road Tour.

Now, they are poised to release their debut album this fall, which is a celebration of womanhood, wildness and leaning into the unknown.
